REBRANDED SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT REFLECTS NEW ERA OF LEARNING FOR MALAYSIANS

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Learners from across the region, including Malaysia, can now benefit from a new industry-focused and skills-based era of lifelong learning through the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM)’s rebranded identity.

SIM Brand, Marketing and Communications director Gerald Lum said the institution’s refreshed identity and offerings were timely as Malaysia looked to develop the quality of its human resources to realise its transition towards Industry 4.0.

“We have close to 8,000 Malaysian Alumni graduates. Our total enrolment numbers of Malaysian students have grown by nine per cent over the past two years and make up the second largest international students cohort, representing nearly 13 per cent of the total international student enrolment.

“Therefore, investing our efforts in Malaysia is an important part of our plans and we are currently looking toward launching overseas teaching centres here,” he said in his speech at the SIM Rebranding Launch Event today.

Also present were Singapore’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Vanu Gopala Menon and SIM Country Manager, Malaysia Janice Chian.

Lum said SIM was currently in talks with several Malaysian educational institutions to find the right partners to collaborate for its teaching centres, thus enabling them to engage with a larger number of learners and contribute to their lifelong learning experience.

He said SIM’s commitment to Malaysia was exemplified by its existing memorandums of understanding (MOU) with Help University, CPA Australia and Kompas International College.

The new face of SIM, with the tagline Learn for Life, Thrive for Life, comes as many industries have undergone a well-documented rapid transformation brought about by accelerated technological innovation, increased automation, and a heightened need to be agile and adapt to the external environment.
