IPOH, Oct 4 (Bernama)— A unique localised digital ticketing platform that is specific to the state of Perak, called ‘Perak Box Office’ is expected to boost the tourism industry and drive more than RM70 million in tourism revenue within five years.

In an effort to highlight the state, L’Univers and Pouch Nation have joined hands to establish a comprehensive digital platform to allow visitors easy access and transparency to all the exciting attractions and events taking place.

This would include concerts, fringe festivals, food festivals, music festivals, exhibitions & conventions, international boat shows, car shows, and triathlons, among others.

The development of the digital platform is also collaborating with Persatuan Seni Tarian & PendidikanAntarabangsa (PSTPA) and supported by Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee of the Perak State Government (PKP Perak) and People of Remarkable Talents (PORT).

Chairman of Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee of the Perak State Government (PKP Perak), Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi said, the initiative would be convenient for local and foreign tourists to visit Perak’s destinations and stay up-to-date on all events and happenings.

“Being the top three favourite destinations in the country, Perak is blessed with nature as well as its biodiversity and this platform will drive Perak’s tourism and creative industry forward,” she said during the launch of Perak Box Office at Weil Hotel, yesterday.

“We look forward to more tourists’ arrivals, tourism receipts, travel packages and creative events, starting with the ‘The UK Bubble Show’,” she added.

Chief Operating Officer of Pouch Nation, Goncalo Vazde Carvalho said, these efforts will also help the state of Perak analyse data based on consumer behaviour, target audiences as well as demographics and allows the Perak State Government to make informed decisions to better promote thestate to the rest of the globe.

“By hosting a digital platform for industry players, we are able to maximize efficiency and minimize the cost of marketing, all the while offering convenience and transparency to travellers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of L’Univers, Shannon Lee said, the digital platform will bring Perak to great heights and be among the most sought-after destinations for local and international tourists, filled with an impressive collection of creative and cultural elements.

President of Persatuan Seni Tarian dan PendidikanAntarabangsa, Audrey Kwan said, ‘Perak Box Office’ acts as a stage for the world to see what Perak and Malaysia can bring to the table.

“In creating this platform, we are able to help bring more visitors to the state, and inevitably create more job opportunities while promoting tourism,” she said.
