KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- Former AEON Co. (M) Berhad chief executive officer Shafie Shamsuddin has been appointed as chairman of the  Siti Khadijah Group.

Siti Khadijah Holding Sdn Bhd (SK) chief executive officer Mohammad Munzir Aminuddin said Shafie’s appointment was in line with the company's strategy to strengthen its position and expand the business empire of the company.

"SK needs experienced leadership to strengthen the company's position. This is the perfect time in line with the company's new marketing strategy, as well as the opening of its latest boutique concept at IOI City Mall.

"We also believe that with his experience, he will be able to drive SK's success towards excellence,” said Mohammad Munzir in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Shafie said he believed that with the collaboration of dynamic, creative and passionate SK team led by Mohammad Munzir, the company would achieve greater heights that would continue to benefit customers.

Shafie, 52 and from Singapore, has extensive experience in the corporate world at home and abroad.

He had held various positions, including as the Advisory Board member for Nanyang Business School Alumni at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore from 2014 to 2021.

In a separate statement, Siti Khadijah announced the move of the existing boutique at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, to the new wing of the shopping centre today.

So far, SK has 43 boutique branches nationwide and plans to have up to 53 branches this year.
