KUSKOP ALLOCATES RM40 MLN TO ASSIST ENTREPRENEURS AND COOPERATIVES

TANJONG KARANG, Sept 26 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP)  through Bank Rakyat has allocated RM40 million to assist entrepreneurs and cooperatives businesses from the education and mosque sectors.

Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said the initiative would be channelled to two financing facilities, namely BR ProNiaga and BR KOPLestari, which are in line with the government’s recommendation to offer a choice of banking products, especially for entrepreneurs.

“An allocation of RM10 million for BR ProNiaga to assist the professionals, whose income was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and now venturing into business as micro, small and medium entrepreneurs. 

Meanwhile, he said BR KOPLestari would be allocated RM30 million to help sustain cooperative business in the education and mosque sectors facing various constraints to continue business in the endemic phase.

He said this after officiating the Bank Rakyat Tanjong Karang branch today.
