LABUAN, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- The China Construction Bank’s (CCB) digital product innovation of CCB Match Plus platform is designed to assist global enterprises expand their business.

CCB deputy principle officer Peng Xiaowei said CCB has integrated the concept of “bringing the world within reach” into the CCB Match Plus platform by leveraging on technologies such as big data, cloud computing and AI technology.

“The digital product innovation of CCB Match Plus platform started in 2019 as a smart matchmaking platform for corporates, financial institutions and industrial parks. CCB Match Plus is committed to providing smart recommendations and realise accurate matching of business opportunities among massive data about cross-border demands and supplies of merchandises, services and projects,” she said at the 24th Malaysian Finance Association International Conference 2022 at Dorsett Grand Hotel here today.

She said that amid the pandemic, CCB Match Plus rolled out a medical sourcing section to support information display, demand release and precise matching of medical supplies, which aims to facilitate cross-border transactions of medical supplies and contribute to the fight against the pandemic.

“Leveraging on CCB’s fintech strength, CCB Match Plus has established ‘Digital Exhibition’ for hosting or partaking digital exhibitions, online conferences, forums, seminars and other forms of events.

“In June, Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (Labuan IBFC) hosted an investment forum on the CCB Match Plus platform, with more than 300 CCB customers in China attending this event and eight of them signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Labuan IBFC successfully.

Peng said that to date, CCB Match Plus has registered more than 210,000 users, held around 170 cross-border matchmaking events for 13,000 of corporates across 34 countries.

She said CCB Match Plus has been awarded the ‘Best Business Ecosystem Platform in China’ by Asian Banker for 2022.

Peng said the evolution of technology and new global patterns in trade have dispersed the commercial operations and pushed investment alliances flow across borders.

“Innovation through digitalisation has the potential to make financial services faster, cheaper, and more inclusive for people globally.

“Nevertheless, proper responsibility for maintaining financial integrity is essential so that any underlying risks associated with new technologies can be appropriately addressed,” she said.

Peng said if the foundation for fintech could be properly established, it would potentially help usher a faster post-pandemic recovery, and a broader, more multilateral and interconnected global financial system.

She said CCB is looking forward to be part of the Labuan financial community in offering innovative banking solutions.

“We all need to keep abreast of the new technologies being adopted, application platforms that are being built and new business spaces available, to further value-add to the business prosperity and support to accelerate Labuan IBFC’s development to the next level,” she said.
