MALAYSIAN RUBBER COUNCIL (MRC) bagged the Council of the Year for the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2022.

The award is under the Excellence in Sustainability Reporting & CSR Initiatives category, which was organised by CSR Malaysia.

MRC chief executive officer Nor Hizwan Ahmad said it became among the organisations that were honoured for the incredible efforts in the corporate sustainability and social responsibility arena to boost the socio-economic and environmental transformation for a better nation.

“As an agency under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, MRC always focuses on holistic and impactful sustainability initiatives, in line with the mission and objectives of MPIC as well as the rubber industry, in positioning Malaysia as a competitive agricommodity leader with high value and sustainable agricultural products in the global market,” he said in a statement, today.

NCT GROUP OF COMPANIES (NCT Group) today signed up with three new partners in preparation for its upcoming Selangor Smart Industrial Park (SSIP) project.

NCT Group signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with AGV Environment Sdn Bhd and Darco Water Systems Sdn Bhd respectively whereas a collaboration agreement was signed with PESTECH Energy Sdn Bhd.

Founder and group managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy said the MoUs and collaboration agreement will enable the company to tap the expertise of its partners to offer the best features while catering to the evolving industry needs.

“It is our commitment to ensure that SSIP is conducive and equipped with complete, future-ready infrastructure, utilities and amenities to attract foreign and domestic investments with a view to long-term sustainable business operations,” he said in a statement today.

ARTRONIQ BHD’S wholly owned subsidiary, Artronix Sdn Bhd (ATX) had entered into a distribution agreement (DA) with Even Systems Co Ltd for the appointment of ATX as a non-exclusive distributor to market products.

This is including but is not limited to the equipment, software licences, electronic products and sealed software packages.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Artronix said the rationale for entering into the DA was to create additional ancillary income for ATX and Artroniq group and to enable the company to concentrate on its core business while maximising business opportunities.

It is not expected to have a material effect on the net assets and gearing of Artroniq group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2022.
