KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Leading consumer electronics and home appliances brand, Sharp, is prioritising the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) agenda in its business direction, in line with the post-pandemic lifestyle that has given awareness to consumers to focus more on health, lifestyle and the environment.

Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd managing director Ting Yang Chung said as Malaysia is now in the endemic phase of COVID-19, the company believes that it should take the responsibility to create practical solutions and technological know-how to improve the quality of life of consumers and business partners.

“Malaysia’s overall economic situation is in the recovery stage and as an addition to our existing line of products that are suitable for the business-to-consumer (B2C) market, we are expanding towards the ESG and business-to-business (B2B) segments as our business model to grow the company further.

“There are many companies in Malaysia that prioritise the health of their employees and here we can provide our life solutions products which are environmentally conscious and have great demand,” he told Bernama at the Sharp Health and Wellness Media Experiential Tour, here, today.

In a statement, the company said it has always been working on developing the best solutions in different aspects for consumers and its business partners in health and wellness.

To that effect, Sharp has partnered with a subsidiary brand, Cocoro Life, which offers complete health and wellness screening ecosystem by combining artificial Intelligence and the internet of things.

“This ecosystem focuses on six key pillars that form the basis of healthy solutions, which are education, early detection, health advice, input, output and maintenance.

“The Cocoro Life health and wellness initiative integrates health reports, nutritionist advice and fitness wellness programme that can be accessed all in one platform,” said Ting.

Sharp was established in Japan in 1912, and this year marks its 110th anniversary.
