SUMO LOGIC UNVEILS GLOBAL SRE PULSE 2022 SURVEY RESULTS

11/08/2022 05:34 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- Sumo Logic, the software as a service analytics platform to enable reliable and secure cloud-native applications, has unveiled the results of the Global Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Pulse 2022, a survey of insights from the global information technology (IT) community.

Global SRE Pulse 2022 highlights the growing adoption of SRE as a central operating model to deliver digital services and applications.

The survey was conducted by DevOps Institute to establish a baseline on the current state of SRE in practice, it said in a statement.

“With the explosion of digital services, SRE has rapidly evolved to become an essential collaboration centre across development and operations teams to deliver digital experiences,” said Sumo Logic’s founding vice-president of product & strategy, Bruno Kurtic.

Insights from the Global SRE Pulse 2022 showcase the growing dependence on SRE to deliver reliable and secure digital experiences by harnessing new processes and cloud-native tools.

Over the course of the pandemic, enterprises have shifted to deliver even more services for health, video communications and financial livelihood as virtual and hybrid work models have taken shape.

To keep pace with this needed transformation, organisations have turned to SRE to anchor enhanced digital experiences.

It is no surprise that respondents to the Global SRE Pulse cited that the adoption of SRE is in full swing, with a resounding 62 per cent of respondents reporting that their organisations employ SRE processes today.

According to the Global SRE Pulse, organisations adopt SRE for a variety of reasons with reliability and security being on the top.

These also include the need to reduce the risk of service failure and unplanned downtime, improve the ability to compete with improved reliable services and offerings, and ensure satisfaction with business team partners because the frequency and severity of incidents are reduced.

DevOps Institute surveyed 460 professionals involved in SRE across the globe, verticals and organisation sizes from March to May 2022.

Professionals working in IT infrastructure and operations made up 35 per cent of respondents, with IT managers to C-Levels making up 23 per cent.
