BINTAI KINDEN CORPORATION BHD’s sub-subsidiary, Bintai Energy Sdn Bhd, has appointed PT Raintech Indo Energi to market and promote flanges, fittings, pipes and other oil and gas equipment on behalf of Bintai Energy in Indonesia.

The collaboration will enable the parties to render their full cooperation within the framework of their domestic laws, rules, regulations and policies, enabling Bintai Energy to market and sell the products for future revenue growth of the group.

Bintai Kinden executive director Azri Azerai in a filing with Bursa Malaysia said the group is seeking opportunities beneficial to both companies as Indonesia has set a target to ramp up crude oil and condensates production to 705,000 barrels a day.

Merchant commerce platform PINE LABS has partnered Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) to enable BSN credit card holders to pay for their purchases in installments via digital Pay Later on Pine Labs’ points of sales (PoS) terminals across Malaysia.

“BSN card members can look forward to affordable ways to purchase with the option to pay by installments up to 36 months at zero per cent rate,” Pine Labs said in a statement.

There are more than 10,000 merchant outlets in Malaysia powered by the Pine Labs commerce platform.

YAYASAN MRCB, in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Council of Women’s Organisations Malaysia (KLSCWO) and Kelab Wanita Ikon Malaysia (KWIM), has established a sustainable business platform BURGERNITA to empower and improve the livelihoods of low-income single women.

In a statement, Yayasan MRCB said the BURGERNITA pilot project, founded by Kelab Wanita Ikon Malaysia, offers women from the B40 economic group the opportunity to run a burger stall business.

“The selected women will be given a physical burger stall with all the required equipment and provisions, and will be provided with training to run the business,” the statement said.

UNITED OVERSEAS BANK (MALAYSIA) BHD has transformed the digital banking experience for corporate clients with UOB Infinity which allows clients to customise the banking online dashboard to enable them to prioritise and visually display information most important to them, the bank said in a statement.

Clients can manage a range of domestic and cross-border banking activities, from checking their UOB accounts across various markets to making local and international payments, without needing to log into multiple platforms.

It is also downloadable as a mobile app and provides businesses with real-time tracking for cross-border payments and real-time notification via SMS or email.

Building materials wholesalers and distributors UNITRADE INDUSTRIES BHD has expanded into modular housing rental services to address workers’ housing requirements. Before this, the group’s rental division was mainly involved with temporary structural support equipment such as scaffolding, steel plates, and hollow sections, a statement today said.

It is adopting a business-to-business model with its modular housing marketed to the construction sector as on-site workers’ accommodations as well as to entities seeking to build centralised labour quarter. The prefabricated houses can used as site offices, canteens, clinics and laundry rooms.

The Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446), effective Sept 1 2022, ensures decent workers housing but was previously applicable only to plantations and mining industries; it has been extended to all employment sectors.
