MAXIS BHD has rolled out its first-ever nationwide UsahaWIRA roadshow to help inspire and empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in retail, food and beverages (F&B) to go digital.

The telecommunication company say that attendees can explore solutions for digital marketing, electronic point-of-sale, remote working and more at the showcase which includes partners like AmBank, BSN, Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation and the Malaysia Retail Chain Association.

According to Maxis, the five nationwide roadshows that started in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 3 to be followed by Johor Bahru (Aug 10), Penang (Aug 17), Kota Bahru (Aug 20) and Kuching (Aug 24), and participants also can get a free consultation to check if they qualify to claim up to RM5,000 from the SME Digitalisation Grant.




NESTCON BHD announced that it has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nam Heng Safety Glass Sdn Bhd for the purposes of collaboration to explore the opportunity to develop solar photovoltaic facilities in Malaysia.

The construction company said that among the scope of the MoU are Nestcon Group will offer the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) services for roof-mounted solar PV systems to Nam Heng Glass Group, said Nestcon in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

Meanwhile, the company said the job scope for Nam Heng Glass Group is to offer the supply of safety glass for potential projects to be undertaken by Nestcon Group.




VOLKSWAGEN PASSENGER CARS MALAYSIA (VPCM) has refreshed its eShowroom with real-time availability of models to provide greater convenience for those looking to purchase a Volkswagen.

The official distributor of Volkswagen cars in Malaysia said that customers will now have access to available units on sale at authorised dealerships nationwide based on the concept of “what you see is what you get”.

Customers may search the website to find what models are currently available and their locations, and decide to either book a test drive or reserve the unit online before being contacted by the preferred dealer in the next steps to complete the purchase, according to the statement.



MALAYAN BANKING BHD (Maybank) announced its Maybank and Maybank Islamic Mastercard and Visa Credit, Debit and Prepaid Cards can now be used with Apple Pay service in Malaysia and Singapore effective today while the Maybank American Express Cards will soon be included.

The bank said that Apple Pay is a safe, secure and private way to pay, as customers avoid handing their payment card to someone else, touching physical buttons and exchanging cash physically.

Additionally, every Apple Pay purchase is secure because it is authenticated with Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode, as well as a one-time unique dynamic security code, said Maybank in a statement.
