BANK ISLAM MALAYSIA BHD and Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) have formed a working partnership to reinforce the bank’s digital talent pipeline through strategic initiatives.

In a joint statement today, it said this includes graduate work placements through talent hiring and internship programmes, Bank Islam’s participation in APU’s Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) and allowing the bank to tap into APU’s expertise to upskill and reskill its employees’ digital capabilities.

The participation of Bank Islam in APU’s IAP will enable both parties to collaborate in developing and reviewing programme curricula, with leaders from Bank Islam providing timely insights on industry requirements for sustaining the digital pipeline for the bank and the job market generally.

SELGATE HEALTHCARE SDN BHD, the healthcare arm of Selgate Corp Sdn Bhd, and Gloco Malaysia Bhd have signed a business collaboration agreement to further enhance the business-business (B2B) e-commerce partnership and clinic management system between the two parties for Selcare panel clinics.

In a joint statement today, it said through the collaboration, Selgate and Gloco will co-market the integrated GLOCO’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform to over 2,000 panel clinics under Selcare Management Sdn Bhd. 

This is also an opportunity for Selcare panel clinics to make medication purchases at a competitive price through this B2B platform.

The statement also said that the collaboration is expected to lead to the extension of other services with Gloco for other Selgate subsidiaries in the future.

AIRBNB and the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly work to educate Malaysia’s Airbnb host community to incorporate sustainable practices into their day-to-day hospitality operations and offerings.

In a joint statement today, they said the MoU aims to help revitalise post-pandemic travel and support Malaysia’s target of becoming a carbon-neutral nation by 2050, as stipulated in the 12th Malaysia Plan.

Both parties will also work to empower Malaysians to reduce their carbon footprint and adopt more sustainable travel habits.

CADBURY DAIRY MILK, the confectionery brand under Mondelez International, was named Malaysia’s fastest-growing food brand by world-renowned data, insights and consulting company Kantar. 

The latest edition of Kantar’s Asia Brand Footprint 2022 report indicated that consumer preference for the brand increased by 21 per cent in 2021, which was the highest within the category.

Following the achievement, Mondelez is offering a 21 per cent online discount for all Cadbury Dairy Milk products from July 27-31, on the Lazada and Shopee platforms.

Key in the code MOND21 to grab extra savings on the snack purchase. The discount is capped at RM8 per purchase and is limited to 500 redemptions per platform.

IJM LAND’s recently introduced Rimbun Aman in Seremban 2, which offers single-storey link homes starting from RM350,000, has 78 per cent of buyers from people in Negeri Sembilan.

The property developer said in a statement that homebuyer demographics showed that buyers from Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (15 per cent) have been increasing gradually, and with other states making up the remaining seven per cent of homebuyers in Rimbun Aman.

The volume of transactions in the area increased by 39 per cent last year compared with 2020, as buyer preferences shifted away from shorter commuting times toward larger property sizes and costs per square foot, the statement added.
