HSS AND OC GLOBAL TO COLLABORATE ON INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN ASEAN AND OTHER REGIONS

KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 (Bernama) -- HSS Engineers Bhd (HSS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oriental Consultants Global Co Ltd (OC Global) to be the preferred partner of the leading Japanese engineering consultancy firm.

In a statement today, HSS said the company has been collaborating with OC Global since 2021 to provide construction supervision services for the North-South Commuter Railway extension project in the Philippines. 

Under this partnership, both parties will collaborate on potential infrastructure projects in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), India and other countries including those in the Middle East and North Africa region, the statement said.

"Both parties will prioritise activities in the transportation sector, particularly rail and mass transit, water resources and supply management, flood mitigation, as well as roads," the statement said.

HSS’ executive vice chairman Tan Sri Kuna Sittampalam said the partnership represents a significant milestone in the company's regional expansion plans.

"We are now equipped with an unparalleled opportunity to extend our engineering expertise to facilitate infrastructure development on a global scale," he said.

Kuna also said HSS has emerged as the first Malaysia-based engineering consultancy to form this preferred partnership with OC Global. 

This collaboration affirms HSS' engineering expertise and paves the way for potential international opportunities, he said.

HSS and OC Global are currently exploring opportunities to collaborate on a feasibility study and engineering design services undertaking for an Asian Development Bank-funded railway project in Bangladesh with the undertaking to commence as early as the fourth quarter of this year.
