KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) -- Boustead Properties Bhd has inked a document of understanding (DoU) with K Ecomart Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Korean Malaysia Trade (KMT) Group as part of its efforts to expand The Curve shopping mall’s tenant mix.
Under the agreement, the property developer will be opening the country’s first and largest K Plus Food Market flagship store at the mall in the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year.
“The collaboration with KMT Group will broaden the mall's appeal to a wider consumer base by targeting the growing youth market influenced by Korean culture," said Boustead Properties chief executive officer Khairul Azizi Ismail here, today.
K Plus Food Market will be the anchor tenant at The Curve by occupying approximately 30,000 square feet of space on the ground floor of the pedestrianised mall, or five per cent of the lettable area which is significant for a single tenancy.
The Curve will also enhance its tenant mix with more than 20 new tenants signed in the first half of 2022.
Meanwhile, KMT Group chairman Datuk Matthew Lee said the Korean concept supermarket will provide a wide range of and the best quality of Korean delicacies.
This will be followed with the opening of a Korean restaurant and bakeries.
“KMT Group has marked its 25 years as a pioneer in promoting Korean food in Malaysia. We are always committed to providing and add significant value to our business partners,” he added.
Additionally, the grocer will carry premium, authentic and affordably-priced Korean products ranging from food and cosmetics to home ware essentials.
