KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) -- The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) and Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) towards sharing data analysis, research results and new findings.
It was signed by Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin and APU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ho Chin Kuan, witnessed by senior officials from both parties.
In a statement, DOSM said that the MoU will also facilitate collaboration in statistics research and knowledge exchange, information supply and storage, as well as improvement of official information as required, mutually agreed upon and allowed by the law.
“This collaboration will produce subject matter experts for both parties in order to satisfy current and future needs for data by using the latest statistical techniques, the application of data science, analytics and other innovative approaches,” said the statement.
It added that the MoU with APU is the 22nd signing by DOSM with an institute of high learning (IPT).
