MUSA ABDUL MALEK NAMED AFFIN ISLAMIC BANK CHAIRMAN
KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) -- Affin Bank Bhd has appointed Musa Abdul Malek as the new chairman of its wholly-owned subsidiary Affin Islamic Bank Bhd (AiBB) effective June 22, 2022.
The bank said Musa has served as AiBB’s independent non-executive director since Aug 1, 2019.
“He has over 40 years of banking experience whereby he held various senior leadership positions in HSBC Group, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd, and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
Musa, who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration (honours) from the University of Ohio, USA/MARA Institute Technology, Malaysia, had also served as an independent non-executive director at Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd in 2017 before retiring in February 2019.
