MIGHT RE-ELECTS 3 BOARD MEMBERS AT AGM

KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), Malaysia’s high technology think tank, re-elected three board members at its 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday. 

The three board members, namely Tenaga Nasional Bhd president and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Ir Baharin Din, Destini Bhd executive chairman Datuk Rozabil Abdul Rahman and Higher Education Ministry director-general Prof Datuk Dr Husaini Omar, were re-elected to the 17-member MIGHT Board of Directors. 

In a statement today, MIGHT said that the board members each bring unique expertise to increase its effectiveness as a collaborative platform in policy promulgation and achieving the nation’s high-tech agenda. 

Baharin brings over 35 years of diversified experience within the power sector, including network planning, construction services, business development, and engineering services, while Rozabil is instrumental in leading Destini group in strengthening its aviation and defence, energy, rail, and marine sectors in addition to having diversified interests in construction and property development to trading, among others. 

Meanwhile, Husaini is a key personality in the area of the human development with previous experiences as Universiti Malaysia Kelantan vice chancellor, Universiti Putra Malaysia deputy vice chancellor and Malaysian Qualifications Agency CEO. 

A panel session on resilience and future competitiveness was also held to discuss requisites and issues in accelerating Malaysia’s sustainable competitiveness. 

MIGHT provides a consensus platform for government, industry and academia for expertise sharing and inputs in the prospecting and promotion of industry development through science and technology strategic application.
