KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- Kelington Group Bhd's wholly-owned unit, Kelington Engineering (Shanghai) Co Ltd, has bagged a contract worth RMB94 million (RM62 million) to perform gas hook up works in Shanghai, China.
In a statement from Kelington Group today, the integrated engineering solutions provider said the contract was awarded by China’s largest semiconductor foundry.
Headquartered in Shanghai with fabrication sites throughout China, the semiconductor giant offers integrated manufacturing services down to 14 nanometer process technologies, the statement said.
However, the name of the foundry cannot be named because there is “a non-disclosure (clause) in the agreement”, Kelington Group investor relations company Capital Front media contact Brian Chin said.
Kelington chief executive officer Raymond Gan said they are delighted to have secured yet another contract with the foundry.
“This is part of the main hook up project relating to the contract that we (had) secured from the same customer in May 2022. This development will enhance our market foothold in China as we continue to secure key packages from renowned players in the market, which will open doors for more business opportunities,” Gan said.
The statement said the gas hook up works will commence in June 2022 and will be completed by March 2023.
Gan also said despite the intermittent lockdown measures in China, the company's operations remain intact with minimal interruptions because sufficient stocks and materials have been prepared to execute the projects.
The statement said year-to-date, the group has so far clinched orders amounting to RM762 million including this contract.
"This brings Kelington’s current outstanding orderbook to RM1.66 billion,” he said in a separate statement.
