CIMB FOUNDATION has announced its support for the Malaysian Emerging Artist Award (MEA Award) as the main corporate partner to further invigorate the Malaysian arts and culture industry and ecosystem.

In a statement today, CIMB Foundation said the MEA Award brings to life one of the foundation’s key pillars that isis empowering the community economically by creating more opportunities and improving the wellbeing of the creative industry.

“We are also extremely pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with prominent artist Bayu Utomo Radjikin to empower young and aspiring artists to elevate their careers, providing them the platform to gain exposure and appeal beyond the local market,” it said.

SCOMI GROUP BHD has reached a settlement with Maybank for RM8 million with regards to the material litigation raised by the bank in the High Court of Kuala Lumpur which must be paid in full by July 29, 2022.

In a statement today, Scomi said the terms of the settlement proposal include the payment of the settlement sum and the company entering into a consent judgement with Maybank on the material litigation by June 9 for the original claimed sum by Maybank of RM113, 957.

It also include the corresponding interest on the claimed sum, withdrawal of all suits and claims by the company against Maybank, as well as payment of legal fees and expenses of RM200, 000 incurred by Maybank.

In return, Maybank will withhold enforcement or execution of the consent judgement against the company until July 29. Upon settlement of the settlement sum, Maybank will discharge and release SGB from the liabilities and obligations of the consent judgement, as well as release Scomi Energy Services Bhd's shares owned by the company pledged to Maybank back to SGB.

AIRASIA took home the Future Travel Experience (FTE) World Ancillary Award in Dublin for its pioneering efforts in digital advancements.

In a statement today, the airline said the award recognises AirAsia as the most forward-thinking airline that has used digital advancements to create new ancillary revenue streams throughout the entire journey -- from booking, check-in, and the airport experience, to on board the plane, and after the passengers arrives at their final destination.
