CIMB BANK BHD and CIMB ISLAMIC BANK BHD have launched the Card2Win campaign until August  31, 2022, to reward consumers whilst advocating greener practices and promoting sustainable lifestyles.

In a statement, CIMB group consumer banking chief executive officer Samir Gupta said the campaign reflects CIMB’s commitment to aligning its products and services with the bank's sustainability agenda.

The campaign is open to all CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic credit cardholders (except for Platinum Business and Fuel Tanker cardholders).

The grand prize is an eco-friendly electric MINI Cooper SE and more than 1,500 prizes are to be won.



MALAYSIA CONVENTION & EXHIBITION BUREAU (MYCEB) will host the Asia Pacific Symposium on Cochlear Implants and Related Sciences in 2025 together with the Malaysian Society of Otorhinolaryngologists Head and Neck Surgeons (MSO-HNS).

In a statement, MyCEB chief executive officer Datuk Sri Abdul Khani Daud hopes the conference will meet its ultimate objective as Malaysia provides the best platform for the interchange of knowledge, skills and expertise with a unique Malaysian experience.

Meanwhile, Asia Pacific Symposium on Cochlear Implants and Related Sciences in 2025 incoming president Prof Prepageran Narayanan said the conference is set to gather prominent global experts for a dynamic forum, promoting productive clinical debates on various aspects of hearing, speech and related balance disorders.

Congregating around 800 delegates and contributing some RM15 million in economic impact, the event aims to improve the understanding and practice in the field of hearing implants.



GRAB, a leading superapp platform in Southeast Asia, has teamed up with KLEAN and the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) to look for solutions that will responsibly recover and recycle single-use plastic with Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs).

Through this partnership, Grab and KLEAN plan to roll out artificial intelligence-driven RVMs at specific locations where users can easily send their recyclable food packaging waste.

In a statement, Grab Malaysia country marketing head Hassan Alsagoff said the partnership is expected to help encourage recycling and make it easier for consumers to contribute to a greener Malaysia.

Meanwhile, MRANTI chief executive officer Dzuleira Abu Bakar said the partnership is set to bridge the gap between public and private sector collaboration by connecting problem statements (demand) with solutions (supply).



INFORMA MARKETS MALAYSIA SDN BHD revealed that Beautyexpo and Cosmobeauté Malaysia is making a long-awaited comeback at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from Sept 28 to Oct 1, 2022, after gaining support from local and international industry associations.

In a statement, Informa Markets country general manager Gerard Willem Leeuwenburgh said it will provide a tremendous opportunity to all the industry players which are significant to reinvigorate the beauty industry and act as a catalyst to economic growth.

BRITISH MALAYSIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (BMCC) announced the winners of the 2022 Business Excellence Awards yesterday. 

In a statement today, BMCC said the winners are Owen Mumford Malaysia, which bagged the UK-Malaysia Business of the Year Award; Astrazeneca & Sunway University (UK-Malaysia Partnership of the Year) and Lancaster University (UK-Malaysia Education Institutional Partnership).

Other award winners were Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia (Diversity & Inclusion), Arup Malaysia (Technology & Innovation) and Sime Darby Property (Outstanding Environmental, Social, and Governance).

“I believe the disruptive application of science, technology and innovation are the catalysts that will provide solutions to the problems we face in the world today, including our government’s aspiration to be a carbon-neutral country by 2050,” said Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
