CTIM AND MTRF PUBLISH REVENUE LAW BOOK FOR TAX PRACTITIONERS, STUDENTS
KUALA LUMPUR, 25 May (Bernama) -- The Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) and Malaysian Tax Research Foundation (MTRF) have published a reference book titled "The Revenue Law -- Tax Cases Digest" for professional tax practitioners and students.
Written by Dr Nakha Ratnam Somasundaram, a tax expert with 50 years of experience working and lecturing in the taxation industry, the book launch was officiated by Ministry of Finance (MoF) undersecretary Che Nazli Jaapar.
“I believe that the book can be useful for tax professional reference and as a guidance for policy makers too.
“There a lot of efforts in publishing this important book and I applause Dr Ratnam and his team as the country can benefit from this kind of book, as keeping updated on current law on taxation is vital,” she said at the launching ceremony here.
Ratnam, who did three years of research for the book, said he was inspired by the moral obligations to make students understand the subject matter with ease and to pass the exam, and for the working practitioners to understand with ease and work better with its comprehensive reference on tax topics.
The 1,540-page book focuses on major components of revenue law and provides a summary of 358 reported tax cases in Malaysia and other countries.
The book could be purchased online and at local bookstores.
