GEORGE TOWN, May 24 (Bernama) -- SEMICON Southeast Asia (SEMICON SEA 2022), the region’s premier gathering for the semiconductor and microelectronics industry, will provide a platform for industry players to find a solution for global supply chain disruption.
Semiconductor Equipment & Materials International (SEMI) Southeast Asia president Linda Tan said against the backdrop of global supply chain disruptions, the semiconductor industry has to examine its entire value chain and find solutions to ensure business resilience and agility to adapt to rapidly evolving global circumstances.
"SEMICON SEA 2022, therefore, provides a timely and relevant platform from which industry players may gather to find solutions through dialogue, knowledge-exchange, and partnerships," she said in a statement here today.
She added that the event will bring together experts from around the world with insights into the industry’s most pressing issues, including topics pertaining to the environment, sustainability, and supply chain resilience.
Themed “Forward as One - Building A Resilient and Sustainable Electronics Supply Chain in Southeast Asia”, SEMICON SEA 2022 will be held at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre and Arena from June 21 to 23.
It will feature more than 250 companies with 400 booths and is expected to attract over 10,000 attendees.
Meanwhile, Special Investment Advisor to the Chief Minister of Penang Datuk Seri Lee Kah Choon said Penang is the country's leading electrical and electronics (E&E) hub, accounting for over 40 percent and 50 percent of the country’s annual trade surplus and electrical and electronics (E&E) exports, respectively, since 2018.
He said the state is also celebrating its 50th anniversary of industrialisation this year, and its sustained excellence and robust industrial ecosystem make it a suitable venue.
InvestPenang, a strategic partner in SEMICON Southeast Asia 2022, will also host several events over three days, demonstrating Penang’s transformation and core competencies in its 50-year industrialisation journey, Lee said.
