23/05/2022 06:57 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 May (Bernama) -- Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd has appointed its corporate services senior vice president Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke as acting group chief executive officer (GCEO) effective June 1, 2022, replacing current GCEO Rafiza Ghazali until a permanent replacement is confirmed.

In a statement today, the company said Rafiza will be stepping down on May 31, 2022 to pursue other opportunities.

Its chairman Datuk Yvonne Chia said during her tenure Rafiza has worked effectively with all key stakeholders and demonstrated her capabilities in repositioning Cradle to play a leadership role in the Malaysian Start-up Ecosystem, a digital information resource portal which is part of the Malaysian Startup Ecosystem Roadmap (SUPER) set up in 2021.

“Rafiza has also set an exemplary model of the participation of women in senior positions in the digital and start-up arena,” Chia said.

On behalf of the board of directors, Chia thanked Rafiza for her contribution to Cradle and the start-up community.

With the support of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), the board is now undertaking a review and assessment process to identify a replacement which will be announced once all necessary approvals have been obtained.

In the interim, the board will work closely with Vanhaecke and the senior management to provide proper support for a smooth and seamless leadership transition.
