ECOFIRST CONSOLIDATED BHD saw Signature International Bhd co-founder Datuk Michael Chooi Yoey Sun emerging as a substantial shareholder with a 5.155 per cent stake.

In a statement today, the property company said Chooi acquired 20 million shares in the open market in the last 14 days and further acquired another 40 million shares via an off-market transaction through Wawasan Fokus Sdn Bhd.

Chooi said he is pleased to be a shareholder of EcoFirst Consolidated but has yet to decide whether to request a board seat following his substantial stake in the company.

EcoFirst Consolidated shares closed at 56 sen today with a market capitalisation of RM659 million.

MAJU GROUP’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Maju Healthcare, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Association of Hotels (Kedah and Perlis Chapter) to facilitate safe travel and spur the growth of the tourism sector as the nation moves forward in the endemic phase.

In a statement today, Maju Healthcare said via the MoU, the company, in collaboration with its medical partner, Global Doctors, and laboratory partner, Gribbles Pathology, would provide exclusive on-site COVID-19 monitoring and care support services for hotels and travellers that have been tested positive for COVID-19 and need to undergo quarantine at the respective hotels.

“This includes the review of the hotels’ operational flow in managing positive patients, identifying risk points as well as recommendations in enhanced flow of patient management,” it added.

PROTON has been named one of the official vehicle brands for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 as part of the brands under the Geely Auto Group, which is an official prestige partner for the Asian Games.

In a statement today, the local carmaker said this recognition not only offered opportunities to support the largest multi-sports event in Asia that would be held in the city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China from Sept 10 to Sept 25, 2022 but also further enhanced prominence for Malaysia’s national car brand in markets across Asia.

“All of Proton’s current models, namely the Proton Persona, Iriz, Exora, Saga, X50 and X70, will carry the title of Official Vehicle of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022,” it said.

ERICSSON has established a Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Malaysia dedicated to Digital Nasional Bhd’s (DNB) 5G network.

In a statement today, it said the DNB 5G NOC based at Ericsson’s premises in Malaysia would monitor, maintain and manage network faults, security and performance KPIs of the DNB network, leveraging the state-of-the-art Ericsson Operations Engine.

The NOC is part of Ericsson’s Managed Services offering for the DNB 5G network and entails managing the performance of the 5G network end-to-end.
