KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8  -- The National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN) has helped 383 entrepreneurs who were mentored through the INSKEN Bumiputera Business Coaching (IBBC) programme and the Online ‘Onboarding’ Coaching Programme (EBoard) to generate net sales of RM5.7 million.

INSKEN chief executive officer Muhd Firdaus Azharuddin said RM300,000 came through EBoard while RM5.4 million was generated through IBBC.

"In total, 56 per cent of the participants managed to record a minimum increase in revenue of 20 per cent," he said when addressing the graduation ceremony of the INSKEN 2020/2021 Coaching Programme here today, which was also attended by Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar.

IBBC is a one-on-one coaching programme supervised by an industry coach to assist entrepreneurs in the twists and turns of business for four months while Eboard is a training programme to strengthen the ability of entrepreneurs to market products on online platforms.

Muhd Firdaus said the entrepreneurs who had been coached were involved in 15 industries such as catering, spa, car workshop, wedding planner, air conditioner, and other services.

"The success of INSKEN today proves that the coaching programme carried out has been effective in helping entrepreneurs to continue in sustaining their business while facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.

Meanwhile, Noh called on agencies under his ministry to reduce bureaucracy to approve loans to entrepreneurs who need funding to improve their businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Anyone who wants to borrow money in the near future, I hope any agency under my ministry will help set aside CTOS, Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS), or any blacklist as they want to do business and we will continue to lend because they are in trouble," he said.
