UEM EDGENTA MD/CEO SYAHRUNIZAM NAMED EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8 -- UEM Edgenta Bhd managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) Syahrunizam Samsudin has been named Executive of the Year -- Engineering at the Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2021 organised by Singapore Business Review.

"It is an honour to receive this prestigious award, truly this is also a recognition of the hard work and dedication of our over 20,000 employees around the region or known as Edgenta Stars.

"They have shown great resilience amidst the pandemic and continued to push UEM Edgenta towards further growth, driven by technology and innovation with a focus on sustainability,” Syahrunizam said in a statement today.

Syahrunizam has been a crucial management member who steered the company to embark on the ‘Edgenta of the Future 2025’ vision.

Under his leadership, the company supports the country in the fight against COVID-19 and renders assistance to accelerate its recovery efforts.

Syahrunizam has also driven the company’s business diversification and digitalisation by introducing Edgenta NXT, UEM Edgenta’s first cloud-based ecosystem, and QuickMed, a cloud-based digital healthcare solution.

Under Syahrunizam’s helm, UEM Edgenta registered a revenue of RM1.6 billion for the first nine months of the financial year (FY) 2021, an increase of 11.2 per cent compared with RM1.4 billion in the same period in FY2020.

He has helped the company secure key healthcare support services contract wins in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Saudi Arabia, said UEM Edgenta, a leading asset management and infrastructure solutions company.

The award acknowledges outstanding individuals and teams whose initiatives have brought tangible business gains for their company’s operations with the evolving work environment and the current economic landscape.
