KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 -- Yakult (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd hopes to raise RM300,000 in funds from a charity football match involving the Malaysian and Japanese All-Stars footballers against the Malaysian Deaf Tigers (MDT) on Dec 11.

Yakult (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd managing director, Hiroshi Hamada said the match to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Cheras, was being organised to help the Malaysian Sports Association for the Deaf (MSDeaf) raise funds for sports development next year.

"We hope the funds raised will be able to support the Malaysian Deaf Tigers team in preparing for local and international matches.

"The MDT are currently in the group of 24 best teams in the world and ranked 6th in Asia Pacific (2018) and 2nd in the ASEAN region (2016) for Deaf football," he told a press conference, here, today.

The Malaysia and Japan All-Stars team will involve many famous Malaysian football players such as Indra Putra Mahayuddin, Zaquan Adha, Baddrol Bakhtiar, Faiz Subri and a few other big names.

"The highest bidder will receive the sports item with the autograph of the player of his or her choice," Hiroshi said.
