SUNWAY MALLS TO RECHANNEL CHRISTMAS DECORATION FUNDS TO CSR ACTIVITIES

29/11/2021 10:10 AM

KUALA LUMPUR Nov 29  -- Sunway Malls will be rechannelling 30 per cent of  its annual Christmas decoration budget to corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts in aid of marginalised and underprivileged communities.

In a statement today, the mall group operator said the move is expected to benefit several communities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) including Bake with Dignity, Buku Jalanan Chow Kit, My Kasih, PgCare Alliance, and The Lost Food Project.

In addition to the savings, Sunway Malls will also be working closely with its pool of 2000 retailers in reusing packaging materials to build their main Christmas trees.

“The prevailing thought is shifting expenditure rather than cutting expenditure. The savings from decoration are channelled into shopper rewards, redemptions and community aid projects.

"This is certainly a more incisive and innovative approach in aiding business recovery," said Sunway Malls & Theme Park chief executive officer H.C. Chan .

Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Giza Mall and Sunway Carnival Mall are among seven malls that will be channelling aid to underprivileged communities in the Klang Valley, Johor and Penang as part of the ‘Together For Good’ Christmas campaign.
