JAKS RESOURCES BHD'S net profit soared to RM28.81 million in the second quarter ended June 30, 2021, from RM2.17 million in the same period last year. 

The improved earnings were supported by its 30 per cent share of the profits, equivalent to RM37.5 million, from the 1,200-megawatts JAKS Hai Duong Power Plant, which is held jointly with China Power Engineering Consulting Group Co Ltd. 

Revenue, however, dropped sharply to RM41.59 million from RM75 million, mainly due to its construction division as there was lower recognition revenue of RM28.3 million from its Vietnamese engineering, procurement, and construction works.

SAND NISKO CAPITAL BHD has proposed a one-into-two share split with free warrants.

The manufacturer of rubberwood furniture is also proposing a bonus issue of up to 115.83 million free warrants based on one warrant for every two shares held on a date to be determined and announced later, it said in a statement today.

Managing director, Emily Sow Mei Chet said the exercises will potentially result in improved trading liquidity of its shares and when the three-year tenure warrants are exercised, it will provide the company with additional working capital.

 CENSOF HOLDINGS BHD's indirect subsidiary, CS Cloud Sdn Bhd has partnered with Nimbus Cloud Services to introduce four new cloud products.

These products will be offered to all existing and future clients of CS Cloud, which is set to meet the growing demand for digitalisation transformation of the public sector in Malaysia, it said in a statement today.

“The products will also provide greater options to existing and potential clients to adopt cloud-managed services in their businesses to oversee improved day-to-day operations,” said the software solutions provider.

HEXTAR GLOBAL BHD's wholly-owned subsidiary, Hextar Chemicals Ltd has commenced a member’s voluntary winding as part of the internal group reorganisation exercise to streamline its structure for greater efficiency.

In a statement today, Hextar Global, which is an agrochemical company, said its unit has no businesses or operations as it is an investment holding company and the exercise will not have any operational impact on the group.

According to the statement, Hextar Global had invested a total of RM596.79 million in the British Virgin Islands incorpoorated Hextar Chemicals.

PUC BHD, through its associate company, Presto Mall Sdn Bhd has signed an agreement with Community Marketplace Technology Sdn Bhd (CMtech), a joint venture partner of Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd, to enable the myrapidTap application (app) with e-marketplace capabilities.

The partnership is for an initial period of one year with an automatic extension option of a further two years, it said in a statement today.

The myrapidTap app is targeted to be launched by the end of this year and would provide commuters with cashless payment for transport services.
