TASCO BHD’s net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2021 increased to RM15.77 million from RM2.64 million in the same period last year.

Revenue rose 62.4 per cent to RM290.1 million from RM178.6 million previously.

“Both international business solutions and domestics business solutions segments recorded year-on-year uplifted revenues, reflecting the broad-based recovery of business activities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

NYLEX (MALAYSIA) BHD returned to black in the financial year ended May 31, 2021, posting a net profit of RM19.31 million against a net loss of RM23.21 million in the previous financial year.

Revenue rose 1.4 per cent to RM1.15 billion from RM1.14 billion previously driven by higher contribution from the Industrial chemical distribution segment, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

For the fourth quarter, Nylex said it recorded a net profit of RM11.4 million against a net loss of RM18.68 million while revenue increased to RM353.31 million from RM230.68 million previously.

ANCOM BHD posted a net profit of RM23.95 million in the financial year ended May 31, 2021 against a net loss of RM9.7 million in the previous financial year.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, it said revenue increased to RM1.54 billion from RM1.47 billion previously driven by higher contribution from the agricultural chemical division.

Ancom said for the fourth quarter, it reported a net profit of RM7.61 million against a net loss of RM11.8 million with a higher revenue of RM445.9 million from RM309.45 million previously.

EDUSPEC HOLDINGS BHD’s wholly-owned unit, 5T3M Sdn Bhd, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Genius Aulad International Group Sdn Bhd to work out a proposal to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and jointly venture into the pre-school and kindergarten market in Malaysia.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, it said the project would debut 5T3M’s initiative to extend the company’s STEM business model to cover the pre-school market.

“Under this initiative, 5T3M will pilot its STEM Programmes at selected Genius Aulad’s centres and to jointly develop a business plan to market the programmes to its other kindergartens under a new joint venture,” it said.

MALAYSIA AVIATION GROUP (MAG) has appointed Cheryl Goh Ching Ling as its non-executive director and Malaysia Airlines Bhd’s board of directors.

In a statement today, MAG said Goh is currently the group vice-president of marketing and sustainability and the founding chief marketing officer of Grab Holdings Inc.

She joins another new addition to the MAG’s and Malaysia Airlines’ board, Shahin Farouque Jammal Ahmad, from Khazanah Nasional who was appointed in August 2020 and other board members include group chief executive officer Captain Izham Ismail, Tan Sri Krishnan Tan, Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan and David Lau Nai Pek.
