MK LAND APPOINTS SOLARVEST AS EPCC PROVIDER FOR SOLAR INSTALLATION PROJECT

05/07/2021 07:05 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 -- Solarvest Holdings Bhd has clinched its first solar installation project under the Large-Scale Solar 4 (LSS4) scheme from MK Land Holdings Bhd for the development of a large scale solar (LSS) photovoltaic plant in Kerian, Perak worth RM42.9 million.

“Solarvest will undertake the full turnkey engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) works for the 10.95 megawatt (MW) LSS photovoltaic system,” it said in a joint statement today.

MK Land’s executive director Lau Shu Chuan said the solar investment is for the long run and it enables the property developer to enjoy a stable stream of income for the next 21 years, thus complementing the cyclical nature of its property businesses.

“Once the solar plant comes on stream in 2023, we will be generating approximately 22,735 MWh per annum of clean energy to the grid. We look forward to working with an experienced EPCC company such as Solarvest to ensure smooth delivery of the project,” he said.

Meanwhile, Solarvest group chief executive officer Davis Chong Chun Shiong said the group is pleased to venture into the solar business with MK Land, from the initial bidding to now executing the installation of the solar plant.

“This project win is the first of the many EPCC projects that we have in the pipeline. Overall, we aim to welcome RM600 million to RM700 million worth of EPCC projects from the LSS4 scheme alone,” he said.
