BOOST has introduced three new value-for-money micro-insurance/takaful plans under Boost Protect to further provide Malaysians with affordable insurance/takaful with premium coverage.

The plans are MozzieProtect, FamilyProtect and Critical Illness Care.

In a statement today, the local homegrown e-wallet said these three additions brought the total coverage plans to 13, underwritten by three Great Eastern entities -- Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Bhd, Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd and Great Eastern Takaful Bhd.

DIGI TELECOMMUNICATIONS SDN BHD is extending the Digi Fibre 150 (DF150) promotion until July 31 as part of its effort to ensure more Malaysian households stay connected during the total lockdown period.

In a statement today, Digi said DF150 offered customers great value for money with unlimited data at high speed of 300 megabits per second from as low as RM100 per month when paired with a qualifying Digi postpaid plan.

“It also provides customers with the convenience of combining their postpaid and fibre accounts in a single bill which makes it easier to track the monthly commitment and payment.

“The DF150 is an ideal option for a medium household of four to meet the demands for home working, studying and entertainment,” it added.

AIRASIA FARM remained bullish on the agriculture sector despite the adverse impact of COVID-19 which resulted in Malaysia’s gross domestic product contracted 3.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2020 with all of the major sectors of the economy posting a decline.

In a statement today, it said the COVID-19 and continued Movement Control Order (MCO) implementation by the government to break the transmission of the pandemic brought a new outlook on the agriculture supply chain, job creation and food security.

Established in June last year, the one-of-its-kind business-to-business match-making platform, connecting producers directly to businesses, has onboarded over a thousand agriculture, aquaculture and poultry producers and supplied to about 100 businesses from small and medium enterprises to chain stores.

HB GLOBAL LTD has received resounding approval from its shareholders at an extraordinary general meeting held today for its proposed acquisition of 60 per cent stake in Forward Resources and Construction Sdn Bhd (FRC) for RM66 million and diversification to include the provision of construction and engineering solution services.

“This is following the two separate agreements that FRC awarded for two tendered projects, which are worth RM370 million and RM701 million, respectively, on June 24,” it said in a statement.

It said FRC has been appointed as the independent contractor and is expected to complete the projects within three years.

It added the scope of works included the supply, delivery, installation, testing, commission, operation, maintenance and deployment of the 5G infrastructure and solutions across Malaysia.

JETRO has launched Japan Street in 2021, an online catalogue for exclusive buyers in the world that connect Malaysian buyers with Japanese manufacturers.

It said in responding to the pandemic situation, Japan Street listed more than 1,200 Japanese manufacturers to connect with Malaysian companies and has provided online business meeting opportunities for about 50 Malaysian buyers seeking to meet new Japanese products.

“Japan is famous with their traditional, unique and up-to-date technology products. Thus, Japanese products such as cosmetics and kitchenware have a high demand and increased 40 per cent and seven per cent respectively in the Malaysian market in 2019 comparing with 2015,” it said in a statement today.
