KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 -- International real estate company Jalin Realty Sdn Bhd is providing free three dimensional (3D) virtual property virtual reality (VR) hosting service to property developers, owners and agents to improve Malaysia's digital property insights and services of assets while bringing analytics to new heights.

Chief executive officer Ian Chen said with the support of Beike Realsee Technology, an Internet-based company from China that provides comprehensive and housing services, it could transform physical building to online 3D virtual reality with 360-degree view.

"This would allow us to design, build, promote and manage our most valuable assets at our fingertips.

"By also transforming physical buildings into data, it will also enable us to utilise and increase the value of the properties by unlocking the unattainable industry-wide trends and insights," he said in a virtual press conference after the virtual memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the parties today.

The hosting service, which is valued at up to RM5 million for a period of six months, is eligible for all Malaysian developers who support the Home Ownership Campaign, Malaysian property owners who plan to sell or rent their property and agents who have existing property listings.

"The innovative technology has already proven its effectiveness, as Beike, a New York Stock Exchange  listed company, is currently China's leading property platform for housing transaction and services.

"We are excited to be part of this digital transformation with Beike Realsee across our offices worldwide in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia," said Chen.

Chen also said the service for the free capturing of property tour is currently offered within the Klang Valley areas, whereas for those outside the area, they could download the free hosting app and use their smartphones or 3D camera to capture the properties by themselves.

On the local property outlook, Chen said the group is positive and sanguine with the Malaysian market as transactions are still seen to be active, coupled with the lower interest rate which is expected to last for some time.

Meanwhile, Beike group vice-president and CEO of Beike Realsee Technology, Hui Xin Chen said its technology would also assist in reducing home viewing cost, improve productivity, time management and enhance the overall home search experience.

"Based on Beike's research, average daily stay time of users in a VR property listings has increased 270 per cent compared to a non-VR listings," said Hui.

The virtual MoU signing was also witnessed by Minister of Housing and Local Government Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin.

In her remarks, she said by using the 3D virtual property tour by Jalin and Beike Realsee, this would increase the efficiency in property transactions, minimise close contact among people and ensure that the movement of people are under control, but still would meet the purpose of buyer and seller.

She added that the service would allow buyers to view properties thoroughly before purchasing, able to plan for renovation works upon purchasing the property and create bigger chance for agents to close a deal.

"This will be the new way forward until our vaccination programme is completed and until the pandemic is under control," she said.
