KUALA LUMPUR, June 1  -- Rubber Production Incentives (IPG) have been activated for May 2021 in Sabah and Sarawak.

The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) said the most active IPGs for Sabah and Sarawak were 0.05 sen and 10 sen per kilogramme (kg) respectively.

Smallholders can make IPG claims based on the May 2021 production from June 1-30, it said in a statement today.

"It is informed that from January 2019, IPG will be activated if the average monthly price of SMR20 (FOB) is at RM6.10 per kg or the price at the farm level is at RM2.50 per kg and below," said MRB.

In May, the farm-level average price for ‘cuplump’ (50 per cent dry rubber content) for Peninsular Malaysia was RM2.80 per kg, Sabah (RM2.45 per kg) and Sarawak (RM2.40 per kg).
