EKA NOODLES UNABLE TO ASCERTAIN WHEN NORHAYATI TUKIMAN BECAME SUBSTANTIAL SHAREHOLDER
KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 -- EKA Noodles Bhd has received a notice from Norhayati Tukiman, who is seeking to convene an extraordinary general meeting for the removal of its entire board of directors, informing of her equity interest in the company as a substantial shareholder.
The rice and sago stick (vermicelli) manufacturer said Sheffie & Partners, acting on behalf of Norhayati, today emailed to the company secretary a notice dated May 31, 2021, disclosing the substantial shareholder’s interest and change in her interest pursuant to Sections 137 and 138 of the Companies Act 2016.
“The company is unable to ascertain the date of event Norhayati Tukiman had become a substantial shareholder and the shares held by her on that date of the event.
“In addition, the company is also unable to ascertain the dates that Norhayati had dealt in the shares of the company and the amount of shares dealt, the same which must be disclosed to the company and to be stated in the notice at the date of the event,” the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
EKA Noodles said as such, the company vide its solicitors would send an official letter to Norhayati on the above.
On May 28, the company submitted an appeal against a possible de-listing to Bursa Malaysia Securities (Bursa Securities).
If it had not made the appeal to Bursa Securities by that date, its securities would have faced de-listing tomorrow (June 2).
