CYPARK PARTNERS WITH PKNME TO DEVELOP WASTE-TO-ENERGY PROJECT IN MELAKA
KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 -- Cypark Resources Bhd is teaming up with the Melaka State Development Corporation (PKNM) on a waste-to-energy (WTE) public private partnership project in Sungai Udang, Melaka.
The environmental engineering solution and renewable energy company said it inked a cooperation agreement with PKNM’s wholly-owned unit PKNM Energy Sdn Bhd (PKNME) today to participate in the project.
In a statement, its group chief executive officer Datuk Daud Ahmad said the agreement allowed the company to jointly collaborate with PKNME to explore, develop and resolve the state’s waste management issues using time-tested and environmentally friendly technologies which included the development of WTE projects in Melaka.
“Following the development of Malaysia’s first WTE plant in Ladang Tanah Merah (Negeri Sembilan), we are extremely proud to announce that the second WTE plant in the country is going to take place soon. It also signifies that we are one step closer to greener ways of waste management benefited human health and the environment.”
“This collaboration enables Cypark to move one step closer towards realising our goal to develop more WTE projects after developing Malaysia’s first WTE project in Ladang Tanah Merah,” he said.
As the pioneer in WTE development, Cypark said it was confident of being able to expand its expertise by winning more WTE tenders backed by its outstanding track record of constructing, owning, and operating the first WTE plant in the country.
