Malaysia-Hainan Special Cloud Exhibition draws over 1,000 entrepreneurs

KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 -- The inaugural China International Consumer Products Expo Cloud Exhibition (Malaysia - Hainan Special) was held successfully on Friday, drawing more than 1,000 entrepreneurs. 

The online event, broadcast live through CCB Match Plus B2B Global Matchmaking Platform on April 16, saw a number of domestic purchasers in China expressing willingness to realise business dealings with the Malaysian entrepreneurs.

China Construction Bank (CCB) Malaysia in a statement said participating companies exhibited their quality products such as durian, bird's nest, coffee, and regional unique artwork.

Representatives of emerging industries such as digital authentication and health care also showcased their services and products through promotional videos and corporate presentation.

During the online business matching session, Good Health System (GHS), Country Heights Health Tourism Sdn Bhd and Labuan Digital Authentication Centre Incorporated signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU).

Through the introduction of digital traceability of quality assurance and rapid biotechnology testing services, the three institutions would work together to integrate digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) models into promoting traditional Chinese medicine in Malaysia and Asean region, to establish long term cross-border cooperation and trade of the product.

During the cloud exhibition, Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development deputy director Gong Qijun shared about the Hainan Free Trade Port policy, followed by status update and highlights of the upcoming first China International Consumer Products Expo 2021.

The Mines Resort and Country Heights Holding Bhd founder Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew gave an introduction on his group and the Golden Horse Digital Investment Bank, while International Department of China Construction Bank (CCB) Hainan branch general manager Cai Xiong and CCB Malaysia Wang Ziming treasurer introduced CCB B2B Global Matchmaking Platform and financial services.

Macau Monetary Authority former director Anselmo Teng Lin Seng presented the International Digital Authentication Centre (Labuan) and participated in the virtual signing ceremony.

The event was co-organised by CCB Malaysia, CCB Hainan branch and Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development aimed at fostering inter-industry cooperation and digital transformation.
