FOCUS DYNAMICS, BRAHIM’S TO ESTABLISH DIGITAL KITCHEN PROJECT

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 -- Focus Dynamics Centre Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Focus Dynamics Group Bhd (Focus), is collaborating with Brahim’s Holdings Bhd’s (Brahim’s) wholly owned unit, SATS Food Services Sdn Bhd, to set up the Digital Kitchen Project.

The Digital Kitchen Project offers various types of services to the on-demand food and beverage (F&B) industry, including Cloud Kitchen, Shadow Kitchen Network, Ready-to-Eat Meals and Digital Food Trucks.

In a joint statement today, Focus and Brahim’s said both companies will provide their own expertise and resources to commence operations immediately.

Focus said it would use a portion of the central kitchen to build and house its Shadow Kitchen Network services, where it would prepare ready-to-eat meals and develop food supply boxes for its network.

“This network makes use of existing restaurants throughout the Klang Valley which are not operating at capacity to act as a fulfilment arm for Focus.

“Brahim’s will also convert a separate portion of the central kitchen to set up a Cloud Kitchen base together with Focus to attract entrepreneurs and small businesses who wish to get started in the digital F&B business,” the companies said. 

According to the statement, Brahim’s would revamp and utilise existing infrastructure and logistics to provide Digital Food Trucks as an offshoot of the Cloud Kitchen model, with remodeled food trucks equipped with digital menus and advertising signage.

The Digital Kitchen Project will see both companies focusing on the new paradigm for F&B business in an offline-to-online push, following the greater demand for e-commerce-based F&B business due to the rising COVID-19 cases and expectations of an extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Focus executive director Benson Tay Ben Seng said the collaboration provides a solid foundation to potentially provide up to 60,000 meals per day, to be delivered to consumers via direct delivery or through the Shadow Kitchen Network.
