KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22  -- United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) is  encouraging customers to use its digital banking services such as the UOB Personal Internet Banking, UOB Mighty and UOB Business Internet Banking Plus to manage their banking and financial needs.

The bank, however, has reassured customers it will continue to operate throughout the targeted Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and remains committed to providing the banking services essential during these trying times.

"As part of the latest CMCO requirements, the bank has temporarily closed nine of its 45 branches nationwide as it balances the need to provide essential banking services with protecting the well-being of its customers and colleagues.

"For customers who visit us at the UOB Malaysia branches that remain open, the bank continues to take precautionary measures to protect the well-being of customers and colleagues per the standard operating procedures recommended by the government," it said.

The nine branches that were temporarily closed from Oct 21, 2020 until further notice are Jalan Imbi, Medan Pasar and Kepong in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Damansara, Shah Alam, Ijok and Jalan Othman in Selangor, as well as  Tuaran and Sandakan in Sabah.

The bank's self-service banking facilities within the affected branches will continue to be available from 6 am to 6 pm daily.

"To ensure all banking services remain operational and secure, the bank has also activated its business continuity plans for all critical functions and services.

"As a result, employees will be working from their respective business continuity sites, from home and on split shifts," it added.
