PLASTICS, RUBBER SUPPLY CHAIN URGED TO RESPOND FAST TO NEW PRODUCTION NEEDS

17/09/2020 06:18 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17  -- The plastics and rubber supply chain must quickly respond to the new production needs amid COVID-19, said Taiwan Excellence, strategic marketing department executive director Mark Wu.

He said this would allow the effective implementation of the circular economy concept, and minimise the energy and consumables used in the manufacturing process as much as possible.

“(Amid COVID-19) Taiwan's plastics and rubber industry suppliers must substantially simplify production lines from (being) multitasking to the one procedure through massive capabilities of integration and reduced energy consumption of production,” he told reporters at Taiwan Excellence’s ‘Plastics and Rubber Machinery Online Press Conference’ here today.

Wu said with the increase in global environmental awareness, the industry must also develop green material techniques and assist customers by building up high-performance, high-yield and low-pollution production lines in order to achieve smart manufacturing as well as promote sustainable circulation and competitiveness.

Taiwan Excellence is the international promotional campaign of the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
