DNEX'S INDIRECT UNIT INKS MOU ON SUBMARINE CABLE BUSINESS

11/09/2020 08:07 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 -- Dagang Nexchange Bhd’s (DNeX) indirect subsidiary, PT DNeX Telco Indonesia (PT DTI) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Infrastruktur Telekomunikasi Indonesia in relation to a submarine cable business.

DNeX said the parties would carry out an assessment towards establishing a partnership in utilising the CS DNeX Pacific Link (DPL) vessel in the deployment, management, maintenance and repair as well as other value-added works for the Submarine Cable Communication System within and outside of Indonesia.

PT DTI is principally engaged in underwater and salvage works in Indonesia and operates an Indonesian flagged DP-2 cable ship, the DPL.

“The MoU serves as an opportunity for PT DTI to build a partnership in the submarine cable business by utilising DPL as the main vessel,” said DNeX in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

It added that the MoU paved the way for DNeX Group to expand its provision of services for submarine cable installation and repair works within and outside the Indonesian territory, and is expected to boost the group’s income in the future.
