IJM CORP'S UNIT BAGS RM864.7 MLN CONTRACT
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 -- IJM Corporation Bhd will develop an 11-storey retail mall and convention centre worth RM864.7 million in George Town, Penang.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its wholly-owned subsidiary, IJM Construction Sdn Bhd has accepted a Letter of Award from Tumpuan Azam Sdn Bhd, a unit of IJM Perennial Development Sdn Bhd.
“The project is part of the development of an integrated waterfront mixed-development project in Penang known as The Light City which will consist of a convention centre, retail malls, hotels, residential condominiums and offices,” it said.
IJM Perennial Development is a 50:50 joint-venture company between its other unit, IJM RE Sdn Bhd and Perennial Penang Pte Ltd, an indirect unit of Singapore-based Perennial Real Estate Holdings Limited.
According to IJM Corp, the construction of the retail mall is expected to be completed within 46 months by July 31, 2024 and the convention centre by Sept 30, 2024.
