OCBC OFFERS CUSTOMERS TO APPLY FOR POST-MORATORIUM SUPPORT

07/08/2020 03:32 PM

KUALA LUMPUR,  Aug 7 -- OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd and OCBC Al-Amin Bank Bhd’s (OCBC Malaysia) customers can apply online for post-moratorium support in relation to their loans and financing.

In a statement today, the bank said the applications for repayment assistance should be made by Sept 7 2020 to ensure a smooth transition when the auto-moratorium period expires on Sept 30.

It said customers could simplify the application via the bank website at www.ocbc.com.my.

“Customers who have lost their jobs may apply for a three-month moratorium extension, while those who have suffered income loss may choose to reschedule and restructure options which include a minimum six-month reduction in monthly installments and other plans,” it said.

OCBC Bank chief executive officer Datuk Ong Eng Bin emphasised that the cessation of the industry-wide automatic moratorium for retail and small medium enterprise (SME) customers on Sept 30 does not in any way reduce the bank's responsibility to provide optimum financing services to its customers for the long-term.

Personal banking customers can also opt to call a dedicated hotline 03- 8317 5011, while SME customers may call 03-8317 5200 that are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
