KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 -- Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation has announced the appointment of Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun as its new Non-Executive Chairman effective July 24, 2020.
Appointed by the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, he succeeds Masdi Mustapha who retired on July 20, 2020.
Masidi graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Hons) (London) before admitted as a barrister at Lincoln’s Inn, London and was called to the English Bar.
He was subsequently admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak.
Masidi was the former Sabah State Assemblyman for Karanaan from 2004 until the state assembly was dissolved last month. He also served as the state’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment (2006 – 2018) and Sabah Youth and Sports Minister (2004 – 2006).
“Bioeconomy Corporation welcomes YBhg Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun as its new Chairman and looks forward to his guidance and leadership as the organisation embarks on its next phase of transformational growth,” it said in a statement.
