BANK MUAMALAT AIMS TO ACHIEVE RM400 MLN IN DEPOSITS VIA ‘SAVE & WIN MORE KAW KAW’ CAMPAIGN

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 -- Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd aims to achieve RM400 million in deposits via its second year ‘Save & Win More Kaw Kaw’ campaign from Aug 1, 2020 until July 31, 2021, its consumer banking division, senior vice president Zury Rahimee Zainal Abiden said today.

The first edition of the campaign which lasted for nine months from Aug 7, 2019 until April 30, 2020 successfully recorded a deposit value growth of RM292.9 million which exceeds the set target, with an increase in the number of accounts by 63 per cent overall.

“For the first half of 2020, Bank Muamalat recorded a deposit value growth of 25 per cent for current accounts to RM5.5 billion and a 27 per cent increase for savings accounts to RM1.8 billion,” he said in a speech via Facebook Live Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd today.

“Bank Muamalat offers prizes worth RM2.54 million including the grand prize of money worth RM1 million to attract customers,” added Zury Rahimee.

In a statement today, the bank said the campaign is open to all existing and new customers who have savings accounts, current accounts and salary accounts at Bank Muamalat.

It said account holder will automatically qualify by maintaining a minimum of RM100 in the Bank Muamalat savings account and RM500 in the current account during the campaign period.

Bank Muamalat chief executive officer Khairul Kamarudin said this campaign is in line with the bank commitment to promoting community-saving habits, while at the same time enabling customers to enjoy attractive incentives to meet their needs, especially as the economy is expected to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
