MAG WELCOMES APPOINTMENT OF WAN ZULKIFLEE AS NEW MAB CHAIRMAN
KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 -- Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has welcomed the appointment of Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin as new chairman of Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB), effective July 1, 2020.
MAG group chief executive officer and managing director Captain Izham Ismail said the senior leadership team looks forward to working closely with Wan Zulkiflee in charting the group’s future.
“Wan Zulkiflee’s proven leadership and illustrious career at Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) prove that he is the most suitable candidate to lead MAG forward as a strong player in the aviation industry and critical enabler of national development,” he said in statement today.
Wan Zulkiflee’s appointment was announced by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today. The Prime Minister also announced that Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz will succeed Wan Zulkiflee as new president and group chief executive officer of PETRONAS on the same day.
MAB is a wholly-owned of subsidiary of MAG.
