GADANG UNIT SECURES RM81 MLN ECRL CONTRACT
KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 -- Gadang Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned unit, Gadang Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, has secured an RM81 million contract to construct subgrade earthworks from chainage for Sections Five and Six of the East Cost Rail Link (ECRL) project from China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd.
Gadang said the total contract sum for Sections Five and Six were RM24.11 million and RM57.072 million, respectively.
"The Section Five project commences today and is expected to complete on June 30, 2022, while the Section Six project shall commence on June 15, 2020 and is expected to complete on Dec 15, 2022," it said in a filling with Bursa Malaysia today.
It said the projects are expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of the company.
"The risks associated with the projects are mainly normal operational risks and the company will take appropriate measures to mitigate the risks," it added.
