KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 -- Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre’s (Mitec) newly-launched Smart Trade Zone (STZ) has teamed up with the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) to establish Biz Technology Solutions (BizLab).
The partners will build and nurture new small and medium-sized events relating to Industry 4.0 via BizLab which was launched here today.
MTDC chief executive officer Datuk Norhalim Yunus said BizLab is the first signature programme that MTDC and MITEC are co-venturing in.
“This is an opportunity for MTDC to showcase locally-developed solutions and technologies by companies from MTDC’s ecosystem and Centre of 9 Pillars (Co9P).
"With this partnership, the STZ platform provides an avenue for us to showcase local technology providers for potential collaboration with local industry partners aside from providing an avenue for networking amongst technopreneurs," he told reporters.
Norhalim said MTDC is currently featuring 14 local technology companies, showcasing their expertise in medical, manufacturing, services and cloud computing amongst others.
STZ is a business hub at Mitec to develop new potential business events, a facility that includes benefits for businesses to converge as well as assist in harvesting new potential leads.
Mitec’s chief executive officer Gunther Beissel said the STZ initiative was mooted based on the needs of the industry and market.
"We hope to use our capabilities in hosting business events as an avenue to facilitate and generate leads that help create opportunities for businesses, leading to more trade and investments for the country," he added.
