KOTA KINABALU, Feb 14 -- Malaysia is a well-known health tourism destination offering world-class facilities with great expertise and value for money services, said Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi.
He said shopping in Malaysia is also a wonderful experience.
"Areas in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Bangsar are well-known shopping districts, offering everything from designer labels to locally made souvenirs," he said in his speech during a welcome dinner of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) adventure travel conference & mart 2020 here recently.
Mohamaddin added that Malaysia is a paradise for golfers, as there are more than 200 golf courses around Malaysia, including the Els Club in Desaru, Johor.
But for more family-oriented or indoor adventures, tourists can head to Lego Land, Sunway Lagoon, Genting Highlands, Escape Penang and Desaru water park for a memorable family holiday.
In the case of Sabah, it is an eco-adventure tourism paradise and cultural melting pot with more than 42 ethnic groups.
"We wish to welcome visitors from all over the world to experience the uniqueness and beauty of Malaysia,” Mohamaddin added.
