KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 -- Bina Darulaman Bhd’s (BDB) wholly-owned unit Kedah Holdings Sdn Bhd has launched a new development project in Serdang, Bandar Baru in Kedah with a gross development value (GDV) of RM33 million.

Head of property and leisure division Tunku Fauzi Tunku Abdul Malek said the project, Aman Perdana, is a joint venture with Bandar Baharu District Council and will be developed into a mixed-use development of 143 units of houses and shop offices on approximately 5.3 hectares of land.

“Bandar Baharu District in general or Serdang in particular has the potential to be developed and thus BDB will play a key role and continue to work with the state government in efforts to develop the district and Kedah in the future,” he said in a statement today.

He said the project is the first housing project in Serdang in the last 10 years and construction would commence in early 2020 with completion expected within two years.

Tunku Fauzi said the project comprises shop offices, single-storey bungalows, two-storey terrace, single-storey semi-D and single-storey terrace houses as well as Makmur Kedah, Aman Kedah and Kasih Rakyat houses.

“The sale price ranges from RM140,000 to RM483,000 for bungalows, one- and two-storey terrace and single-storey semi-D houses, and RM570,000 to RM882,000 for two-storey shop offices.

“In addition, the prices for Makmur Kedah houses range from RM150,000 to RM170,000, Aman Kedah homes range from RM90,000 to RM100,000, while for Kasih Rakyat houses, prices are between RM35,000 and RM65,000,” he said.

He said the project also shows BDB's commitment to offering modern homes at affordable prices, with 82 per cent of the homes offered at RM300,000 and below.

Apart from residential houses, he said BDB also provides opportunities for traders in the area to expand their business by offering two-storey shop offices that could boost economic growth in Serdang.

“In addition, BDB through Kedah Holdings will provide an open space for residents in the residential area, while the council will also upgrade the infrastructure and public services throughout the area,” he added.

Apart from Aman Perdana, Kedah Holdings is also involved in the development of small-scale housing projects in Kedah including Kulim Heights Apartment in Kulim, Taman Nusantara in Kuala Kedah, Taman Lelasari in Langgar and Bandar Sejahtera in Pokok Sena.
