PORT DICKSON, June 22 (Bernama) -- King’s Char Kuey Teow plans to open two new outlets in tourist hotspots -- Pantai Klebang in Melaka and Desa Rhu, Johor Bahru.
Araizat Sdn Bhd director Aizat Zuhailie Abu Bakar said the two new restaurants would be the company’s second and third outlets after the opening of its first restaurant in popular holiday resort in Port Dickson eight years ago.
The second outlet in Pantai Klebang was expected to be operational at the end of this year while the Desa Rhu outlet was slated to be operational in mid-2020, he said.
"The two places are selected based on their locations as popular tourist destinations, hence we want to attract more tourists to those areas.
"This represents our strategy to help in increasing the number of tourists at an area," he told Bernama here.
Aizat Zuhailie said besides opening the two new outlets, the company was also planning to launch a food truck business to provide opportunities for youths who are interested to venture into this sector.
"The launch of the food truck business will start this October...we are offering jobs especially to youths who are interested to carry out this business.
"In addition, we are also attracting interest from investors in Singapore in the food truck service," he added.
He said last year, King’s Char Kuey Teow recorded a profit of RM3.8 million and it targeted to achieve RM6 million this year.
